Hello, my name is Looptron.

Been a little while.

This week marks the start of the gearing up process for the next gig and all the evil marketing practices attendant there to. I beleive the Cassette Electrik folks have some cunning plan regarding money off, more details on that when I have them, there'll be the usual amount of bandspam so you should get plenty of warning.

I created a Looptron Facebook group, seeing as that is the social networking site du jour. Feel free to join in... not quite sure what it's for yet, but I guess it'll figure itself out.

On Monday the rig got transformed from writing mode (desk based) to performance mode (set up on the stands) so I can start getting the live stuff back together. At this point the intention is to include all the material from the EP in the set but given how much the material transformed last time during the rehearsal process I'm going to hold off recording the "final" version until after the gig, I think. On the bright side, it means that all the prep work will be done so it's just a case of knuckling down and capturing THE performance and doing a bit of mixing.

All sounds so easy, doesn't it?

Voice Of Cheese? Moi?

Today, ladies and gentleman, I am the Voice Of Cheese over at Kill Ugly Radio (a mostly sort of sometimes Frank Zappa related blog). They've very kindly put up Hello, My Name Is Looptron for the consumption of their discerning listeners so if you're a newbie here from there - hi! Nice to meet ya! In other vaguely Zappa-related news I watched the Baby Snakes DVD last night for the first time and aside from the usual shock and awe you get at seeing the man in action I've developed a new found respect for Adrian Belew. He's just awesome.
