I have a box from Bleep Labs in my bag that I picked up from the Post Office this morning. Can't possible open in the office at my day job though.... it's far too exciting. Haven't even peeked.

Conversely, I feel terrible today. It's possible I was poisoned by a pre-rehearsal Subway (meatball) or some Jarlsberg cheese. Or that I just have a bug (cos everything else aches too and my glands are up). Either way, things ain't pretty.

There was one of those "sorry you were out" cards from the Post Office when I got home. Gotta wait 48 hours til I can pick it up.

In the meantime, I've got to practice for a rather unexpected Moeker gig on Saturday.

Leaving on a jet plane...

Thingamagoop Mk II has left the States. (I think the whole ability to track parcels just raises anxiety, y'know.)

Off for a singing lesson. Then to meet my mum for lunch (rock'n'roll!). And then.... just maybe.... I might do some work on the tunes.

The Second Coming of Bleep

Second Thingamagoop has been dispatched. It was in Texas last anyone heard. Pleeeeeease make it safely. Pleeeeease.

The new live rig functioned ok, but is surprisingly heavy for a one shoulder strap configuration bag. At least it was when trying (but failing) to get across London on public transport. Also, it kept making popping sounds through the desk while I was trying to video young Pat playing his guitar parts using the iSight. Think it's ok when it's not competing for resource though.

If it doesn't pan out I might just have to get me a MacBook Pro. :-)

Looptron Live Rig Mk I

I'm off for my inaugural briefing as the temporary guitar player in Cassette this evening which means that for the first time ever a Looptron-style live rig has been constructed (and transported with me to work, no less, so I can make a hasty departure Souff Ov Da Rivva). It consists of:

1. An Ibanez S-Series Prestige Edition geetar
2. An Apple iBook G4 running Native Instruments Guitar Rig 2 and Ableton Live 5
3. Native Instruments Rig Kontroller 2
4. Assorted leads
5. An Apple iSight in order to capture everything that we rehearse this evening in glorious GrainyVision™.

Of course, there's no synthesisers in this rig (young master Freke has this side of things well and truly taken care of) so I imagine there being another bag added to the final thing, but still..... there ain't a lot of it. Which is nice.
